Northwest Emergency Response Pathway

 

Emergency Response pathway students will graduate with experience in the world of emergency medicine, fire science, and/or 911 dispatch. All pathways offer foundation opportunities in health and medical terminology before changing into more content specific work. Students who decide to choose these pathways will be college prepared and career ready. 

Northwest Emergency Response students choose from three pathways: 

  • 911 Dispatch: Learn the skills necessary for dispatching and have opportunity to obtain certification. 

  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): Learn the skills in emergency services both in principle and safety and health. 

  • Fire Science: Learn the skills in emergency services both in principle and safety and health. 

 

Pathway Options and Course Sequence 
911 Dispatch Pathway Courses 

  • 10th Grade: Foundations of Healthcare+ & Medical Terminology+  

  • 11th Grade: Psychology & Sociology  

  • 12th Grade: 911 Dispatch+ 

EMT Pathway Courses: 

  • 10th Grade: Foundations of Healthcare+ & Medical Terminology+  

  • 11th Grade: Psychology & Principles of Emergency Services  

  • 12th Grade: Safety and Health for Emergency Services 

Fire Science Pathway Courses: 

  • 10th Grade: Foundations of Healthcare+ & Medical Terminology+ 

  • 11th Grade: Psychology & Principles of Emergency Services 

  • 12th Grade: Safety and Health for Emergency Services 

Advanced Academics 

  • Dual enrollment opportunities with Metropolitan Community College.
